Panja UAE Cup Debuts Globally with India-Pakistan Showdown in Dubai
Dubai:
The Pro Panja League, India’s premier ArmWrestling platform, made a powerful
global debut with the Pro Panja UAE Cup at the India Club, Dubai on April 19.
The high-octane international event featured top ArmWrestlers from India,
Pakistan, UAE, Kuwait, and Bahrain, drawing massive excitement—especially with
the much-awaited India vs Pakistan clash.
Sanctioned
by the Dubai Sports Council and overseen by the Emirates Body Building and
Fitness Federation, the event welcomed key dignitaries including Omar Ali
(Ministry of Sports), Faisal Alzabi (Emirates Body Building Federation), and
Bharat Chachare (India Club CEO). Actor and League Co-Founder Parvinn Dabas and
Bollywood star Preeti Jhangiani, also President of the People’s ArmWrestling
Federation India, were present.
India’s
Mazahir Saidu delivered a dominant 3-0 win over Pakistan’s Umer Awan in the
headline match, calling it a “truly special” moment. Wins also came from
India’s Umesh Kattuparambil and Asker Ali. Bahrain’s Talal Ali shone with a
clean sweep over India’s Arjun Menon, later challenging Asker Ali.
Following
the event’s success, Dabas announced plans to make the UAE Cup a regular
fixture. Jhangiani hailed the energy in Dubai, calling the event a sign of
ArmWrestling’s growing global reach.
