Mumbai, April 9: A
sensational all-round performance led by captain Vishwajit Jagdale
helped Mafatlal SC storm into the final of the RCF T20 Cricket
Tournament 2025 for the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Cup, organized by Rashtriya
Chemicals & Fertilizers (RCF) Sports Club under the aegis of the Mumbai
Cricket Association (MCA).
Playing at the RCF
Colony ground in Chembur, southpaw Jagdale anchored Mafatlal’s innings with
a blistering unbeaten 68 off just 38 deliveries, laced with five
boundaries and four towering sixes. Openers Kunal Nar (51 off 24 balls)
and Saurabh Singh (49 off 14 balls) laid a strong foundation with
explosive knocks, as Mafatlal piled up a daunting 230 for 6 in 20 overs.
In response, Space
SC crumbled under pressure and were bowled out for 148 in 16.4 overs.
Despite a fighting half-century from Rohan Gajjar (56 off 27) and a
handy 37 from Aaditya Parab, Space couldn’t keep up with the mounting
required run rate. Mafatlal’s bowlers, especially Sahil Phegade (4/16), Kartik
Mishra (3/30), and Ajay Mishra (2/41), delivered match-winning
spells to seal the victory.
In the second
semi-final, DTDC Sports Club overcame Viva Supermarket SC by 27
runs to book a place in the final. DTDC’s opener Vedant Murkar slammed a
stunning unbeaten century (113 off 52 balls) and was well-supported by Anish
Choudhary (81) as DTDC posted a mammoth 246/4. Though Viva responded
strongly, they fell short, finishing at 219/7.
