Mumbai, 31 March 2025: Following the successful conclusion of the JSW Indian Open in Mumbai, where Anahat Singh claimed the women’s title, Indian squash is poised for an exciting future with the announcement of three more international tournaments.

In a significant step for the sport, the Inspire Institute of Sport and JSW Sports, in collaboration with the Squash Rackets Federation of India (SRFI), have signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to host three years of world-class squash action on home soil. The MoU was formally signed by Mr. N Ramachandran, Patron of SRFI, and Mr. Parth Jindal, Founder & Director of Inspire Institute of Sport and JSW Sports, on the sidelines of the JSW Indian Open—India’s first-ever PSA Squash Copper tournament—where players competed in a unique outdoor glass court setting.

Over the next three years, India will host three PSA Squash Copper tournaments, with Mumbai, New Delhi, and Chennai expected to be the key venues. Beyond the tournaments, the partnership will facilitate collaboration with some of the world’s best high-performance squash coaches, ensuring top-tier training for Indian players. With six Indian players currently ranked in the world's top 100, this initiative is a major boost as they prepare to compete against the best in the lead-up to the Los Angeles 2028 Summer Olympics.

JSW Sports and SRFI on Strengthening Squash in India

Mr. Parth Jindal, Founder & Director of Inspire Institute of Sport and JSW Sports, expressed his enthusiasm: “At JSW Sports, we are committed to supporting squash as India prepares for the Los Angeles Olympic Games in 2028. Our goal is to bring high-quality squash to the country, providing Indian players with the best possible platform to achieve their dreams. We are thrilled to partner with the Squash Rackets Federation of India, who have been incredibly supportive of this vision.”

Mr. N Ramachandran, Patron of SRFI, echoed similar sentiments: “We are delighted to collaborate with JSW Sports, a pioneer in developing a robust sporting ecosystem in India. This initiative is designed to provide Indian squash players with high-level competition as they set their sights on Olympic success. The Squash Rackets Federation of India is excited for what the future holds, and we hope this initiative lays the foundation for an Olympic medal in squash for India.”
