Thane’s Agarwal Sidelines Sachdev in Malabar Hill Club

November 18: Thane's cueist Anuj Agarwal played with grit and determination to
brush aside Mumbai’s fancied cueist Rrahul Sachdev, cruising to a comfortable
4-2 win in the first round of the Malabar Hill Club State Ranking Snooker
Tournament 2024. The match took place at the MHC billiards hall on Monday.
Agarwal
produced a series of impressive breaks — 31 (3rd frame), 32 (4th frame), and 40
(5th frame) — to secure victories in the remaining frames, winning 61-62,
53-49, 62-22, 58-10, 57-50, and 62-57 to advance to the second round. Sachdev
did manage to roll in a break of 32 to win the first frame and another break of
46 in the sixth frame.
In
another match, Gaurav Jaisinghani of Vashi cruised to a 4-1 win against Pune’s
talented youngster Aarav Sancheti, finishing with scores of 53-60, 55-49,
45-36, 58-30, and 54-12.
Mumbai’s
Sumer Mago also emerged victorious in his first-round match, defeating fellow
Mumbaikar Aditya Shandilya 4-2. The scoreline read 71-9, 55-11, 43-56, 72-20,
49-72, and 64-21.
