Federation Launches Grandmasters Series to Unveil India's Top Gaming Talents
New Delhi, 11th
November 2024: The Skillhub Online Games (SOG) Federation has officially
launched the inaugural SOG Grandmasters Series, a national championship
designed to showcase India's exceptional talent in skill-based mind sports.
Aiming to unearth 1 lakh gaming talents across the country, this groundbreaking
series will feature competitive events in chess, blind chess, and rummy, with
players vying for a grand prize pool of INR 2 crore.
In a significant move
to elevate the stature of mind sports in India, the SOG Federation has also
partnered with the International Mind Sports Association (IMSA), aligning with
global standards to bring international recognition to India's gaming
community.
"Through the SOG
Grandmasters Series, we aim to foster a culture of excellence and
competitiveness in India’s growing online gaming sector," said Mr. Shankar
Agarwal, President of SOG Federation. “Our partnership with IMSA ensures that
we are on the global map, nurturing champions who will represent India in
international competitions."
The tournament will
kick off with online qualifiers, followed by phygital zonal events starting
December 18 in Bengaluru, blending physical and digital formats. The grand
finale, featuring the top players from across India, will be held in Delhi in
March 2025.

the SOG Federation is committed to creating a sustainable ecosystem for
skill-based mind sports in India, offering unparalleled opportunities for
growth and recognition.
