Youngsters' Triumph
Mumbai, November 25:
All-rounder Janhavi Kate played a pivotal role with both bat and ball to help
Fort Youngsters defeat Dahisar Sports Club by 126 runs in the seventh and final
match of the third ‘A’ Division MCA Women’s Cricket League 2024, held at the
Yashwant Nagar ground in Virar on Monday.
Batting first, Fort
Youngsters posted a total of 199/8 in 40 overs. Kate led the charge with a
brilliant 86 runs (91 balls, 14 fours), while Manasi Patil contributed 43 runs.
Dahisar's bowlers Sakshi Gawade (3/16) and Vaishnavi Desai (3/33) were the pick
of the attack.
In reply, Dahisar
Sports Club were bowled out for just 73 runs in 34.4 overs. Kate then shone
with the ball, taking 5 wickets for just 7 runs, ensuring her team emerged as
champions for the second consecutive year.
