Jathar's match-winning knock of 55 runs and a brilliant 5-wicket haul by Ankush
Jaiswal were the standout performances as MIG Cricket Club emerged as
champions, defeating Karnatak Sporting Association (KSA) by four wickets in the
final of the MCA President Cup A & B Division 2024-2025, played at the MCA
Stadium, BKC on Sunday.
Karnatak SA, electing to bat first,
struggled to get their top-order going, with only the lower-order batsmen
contributing valuable runs. Aishwarya Surve held the innings together with a
patient 47, while Ajinkya Patil scored 31 and Vaibhav Mali added 27 runs. Harsh
Tanna (2/33) and Ankush Jaiswal (5/11) were the key bowlers for MIG, with
Jaiswal’s exceptional performance leading the way.
In response, MIG Cricket Club comfortably
chased down the target of 148, reaching 152/6 in 19.1 overs. Besides Jathar's
55, Atharav Ankolekar played a crucial unbeaten knock of 29, ensuring the
team’s victory. Om Keshkamat also chipped in with 25 runs. Bhavya Attrey (2/40)
was the most successful bowler for Karnatak SA.
