43rd Junior National Kho-Kho Championship
Maharashtra Teams Make Winning Start
Aligarh, November 25: Both Maharashtra teams
made a strong start with victories in the opening matches of the 43rd Junior
National Kho-Kho Championship. The competition commenced today at the Maharani
Ahilyabai Holkar Sports Stadium in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. A total of 30 teams
are participating in both the boys' and girls' categories.
Maharashtra Boys' Team Starts with a Win
In the opening match, Maharashtra's boys'
team secured a commanding 37-26 victory over Vidarbha, winning by 11 points
with 5 minutes to spare. The Maharashtra team showcased excellent coordination
and precise attacks. In this match, Vilas Walvi contributed with 2.40m and
1.30m defense, and 4 points in attack. Bharatsingh Vasave held defense for 1.30
minutes while earning 2 points in attack. Krishna Bansode played 2.59 m
defense. Ashish Gautam played unbeaten with 2.10m and 1.20m defense, adding 8
points in his sharp attack. Vidarbha’s Mohit Naware played 1.00m defense, and
Shailesh Koreti also did 1.00m defense, earning 6 points in attack.
Maharashtra Girls' Dominant Win
In the girls' category, Maharashtra won
decisively against Madhya Pradesh with a 40-12 scoreline, winning by one inning
and 28 points. The Maharashtra girls’ team demonstrated impressive defense and
attack. In this match, Pritika Birajdar made 3.30m defense and earned 2 points
in attack. Ashwini Shinde also played 3.30m defense, adding 4 points. Sushma
Chaudhary did 3.20m defense and added 4 wickets in attack. Pranali Kale
remained unbeaten with 1.10m defense, contributing 10 points in attack. Tanvi
Bhosale achieved 2.40m defense. Madhya Pradesh’s Akshara Malini and Lakshmi
each recorded 1-minute defense time.
